Norwich City enjoyed a weekend to remember after they downed local rivals Ipswich Town 1-0 at Portman Road.

A solitary James Maddison goal helped the Canaries to the impressive win, and it propels Norwich to sixth in the Championship table.

One player who didn't feature for Daniel Farke's side was Portuguese striker Nelson Oliveira.

The forward is struggling to get game time at Carrow Road, with Cameron Jerome being preferred to the former Swansea striker.

It would be no surprise to see the forward depart in the January transfer window, but Farke would have to find a replacement.

Arsenal striker Chuba Akpom is in desperate need of first-team football, and a loan move away from the Emirates Stadium in the January window is a viable option.

Could Farke make a move for Akpom if Oliveira leaves?

The writers here at FLW issue their verdicts......

George Dagless

He'd have to be joined by another.

Akpom has attributes to be a decent striker somewhere but he is not at the level of Nelson Oliveira at all.

The striker could be a top flight player and if Norwich lost him they'd need two players to make up for the void he'd leave.

The Yellows need more goals and losing Oliveira would be a real blow.

Chris Gallagher

No, he's not prolific enough.

Nelson Oliviera is one of the most prolific strikers in the league, whereas Akpon has three goals in his last 53 Championship games.

That stat is a bit unfair as he has been on loan and is still young, but it shows he's unlikely to replace Oliveira's goals if he left. Canaries fans will hope the Portuguese forward is going nowhere though!

Alfie Burns

Akpom is player that divides opinion, with the striker’s goalscoring record underwhelming.

There is obvious talent there, but he couldn’t be seen as Oliveira’s replacement at Norwich.

Norwich could do worse than bringing the 22-year-old to Carrow Road, but they would need to make other additions alongside him if Oliveira left.
