After weeks of speculation, Brentford manager Dean Smith has left Brentford to join boyhood club Aston Villa.

The 47-year old will be joined at Villa Park by former club captain John Terry as his assistant coach, after spending three years at the helm of the West London club.

Smith, a life-long Villa fan, has done a fantastic job at the helm of Brentford since joining the club from Walsall in 2015, and his attacking and attractive brand of football has taken the Bees from midtable strugglers to real promotion contenders in the last few years on a shoe-string budget.

Brentford have been knocking on the door of the playoffs over the last couple of years, and they currently sit 7th in the table after twelve league games.

It's a huge blow for the Bees, who will now have to look for a new manager or head coach, with a hefty compensation package at their disposal following Smith's departure.

Here, we take to Twitter to gather the views of Brentford fans after this recent, disappointing news for all concerned with the London club.
