Reading suffered defeat on Wednesday night as top-of-the-table West Bromwich Albion came out victorious at the Madejski Stadium.
The Royals came out the traps strongly and won a penalty early in the fixture when Kyle Bartley was penalised for a handball after a corner was floated into the penalty box.
George Puscas, without a goal since November, stepped up and coolly slotted past Sam Johnstone in the West Brom goal.
The Baggies responded and equalised before half time when Matheus Pereira tapped in after seeing his original effort saved by Rafael Cabral.
Bartley then made up for his handball earlier in the contest by guiding a terrific looping header into the far corner.
The goal secured the three points for West Brom and condemned Reading boss Mark Bowen to another winless Championship game.
The Royals are seven games without a win in the league and they’ve lost four of those seven. At the moment, Bowen’s side are just nine points off relegation with fixtures against teams such as Wigan Athletic and Barnsley to play.
Bowen appears to be a divisive figure amongst many Reading fans at the moment.
Here’s how Royals supporters reacted towards the manager after the side came away with nothing on Wednesday night…

20 games, only 3 questionable results. We aren't getting play offs, Bowen has raised us into an average midtable team. Fine by me. We will lose our next two games too btw, doesn't matter. I'm not even a big Bowen fan but sacking him is ridiculous. He's done okay.#readingFC pic.twitter.com/h0ifDuqzCA

Bowan has improved us as a group, no doubt, which let’s be honest is with Gomes squad. He wasn’t given his own signings in the window, so let’s at least give him until Nov/Dec with a proper transfer window behind him #readingfc

Can’t believe people are still defending Bowen. 1 win in 11 and 9 points off relegation zone with sides like Luton, Charlton and stoke all picking up points recently. We’re not as safe as people seem to think.. #readingfc

If Bowen is still in charge next season, I will not be getting a season ticket. I love the club and have been a season ticket holder since I was 12, but this is the first season I have absolutely no interest in going to games. Boring football with no direction. #readingfc

If Bowen is going to do well – he needs to be a manager, not a ‘head coach’. He must have full control over signings and departures in the summer. Think he’s in over his head but the board need to take responsibility for making the decision of extending his contract #readingfc

Haven’t won since New Year’s Day, no win in league since Bowen signed his new contract. Home form shocking. 4 points from possible 21. Pressure on Bowen if he gets nothing this weekend surely? #readingfc

Genuinely for the life of me don't understand why the fans were more lenient towards Gomes than Bowen. If Bowen goes he'll be a victim of his own success. #readingfc
