Notts County have parted company with manager Harry Kewell after only 10 weeks in charge, with the Magpies down in 22nd place in League Two, with a record of only three wins in 14 starts under Kewell.

Kewell arrived from Crawley Town in August to replace Kevin Nolan on a three year deal, but chairman Alan Hardy has decided that after 73 days, results and performances are a concern as reported on BBC Sport and have let the former Leeds and Liverpool winger go.

So is Kewell's sacking the right decision for County?

We discuss.....

Jay Taylor

It was an odd appointment, to begin with, having approached him from Crawley.

He is too inexperienced to be trying to get a team away from the relegation zone and that proved with three wins in 14 matches.

It might be an issue with the squad instead of the manager but Harry Kewell looked like he was out of his depth.

It was certainly the right decision in my opinion.

Gary Hutchinson

It was ridiculous to appoint him anyway. He did nothing at Crawley that caught the eye.

That said it smacks of an owner without a clue. He said he wanted to give him a five-year deal when he appointed him.

Ten weeks.

There’s more to it, there has to be. No club owner is that foolish, surely?

George Dagless

Yes.

Clearly, many at the club felt it was not going to work so why bother continuing in that way.

They'll need to get the next appointment right though.
