According to Football Insider, Huddersfield Town are contemplating sacking manager Danny Cowley ahead of Wednesday night's clash with Birmingham City.

Cowley took the reins at the John Smith's Stadium in September, arriving from Lincoln City after guiding them to promotion from the National League to League One in the space of three years.

The 41-year-old has since won 11 out of 34 games in charge of the Terriers, with the Yorkshire club recently dropping into the Championship relegation zone.

Following a 3-1 defeat to Nottingham Forest at the weekend, Town have slipped to 22nd place in the Championship, inside the relegation zone only on goal difference.

With seven games left to save their season, Football Insider now claim that Cowley, and his brother Nicky, are under "serious pressure" to keep their jobs.

They claim that Cowley is on the brink of being sacked by Huddersfield, ahead of Wednesday's trip to St. Andrew's to face Birmingham City.

Sacking a manager at this stage of the season would obviously be a bold decision, especially given the lack of proven names out there to potentially replace Cowley.
