Leeds United's season has taken a drastic turn for the worse over the past couple of months and the appointment of Paul Heckingbottom hasn't really had the desired effect on the team's results.

The Whites have slid down the Sky Bet Championship at an alarming rate and the club are currently 11 points adrift of a place in the top six with the 2017/18 campaign looking like a complete write-off.

Heckingbottom has some serious work to do at Elland Road during the summer if he is to keep the fans onside, and make sure that the club can compete in the higher echelons of the division next season.

Leeds fans are due a bit of success after years of turmoil and there is no doubting that a club of their size should be gracing the Premier League more frequently.

Given their drop in form, FLW writer Lee Clarke looks at two things that the current Leeds boss must do in the summer if he is to revive the great club's flailing fortunes.

Selling Rob Green to West Yorkshire rivals Huddersfield Town has to go down as a massive clanger for the Whites, given their incapability to replace the influential member of last season's squad.

Green is a quality goalkeeper at Championship level and his loss has been costly for the Whites this season, especially considering the erratic nature of Felix Wiedwald's goalkeeping.

Previous Leeds bosses have signed players from overseas clubs who perhaps don't boast the required quality to put the club in the hunt for promotion and Heckingbottom must look to change that during the summer.

Leeds supporters expect a certain level of quality and in recent years some signings have failed to hit the mark and more Championship quality is a real must for the Whites' boss ahead of next season.

Leeds fans, do you agree that these things need to happen in the summer? Let us know in the comments below!!!
