‘No brainer for all parties’ – Many Preston North End fans react to potential transfer involving Liverpool
Preston defender Ben Davies is expected to complete a move to Liverpool today, according to several sources, including Fabrizio Romano.
Davies had previously been heavily linked with Celtic in recent days, and looked set to sign for the Scottish champions.
However, following Joel Matip’s injury sustained at Tottenham on Thursday, Jurgen Klopp’s men have swooped in at the last minute as they look for cover in the central defensive department due to long-term injuries suffered to both Virgil Van Dijk and Joe Gomez.

Klopp has been forced into playing both Fabinho and captain Jordan Henderson at the heart of the Reds defence in recent weeks, but Davies now looks set to solve some of Liverpool’s problems by sealing a dream move to Anfield before tonight’s deadline.
Davies, a product of Preston’s Academy, has made more than 150 appearances for the Lilywhites, has been an outstanding servant for the Deepdale outfit, but is now on the verge of joining Liverpool, just hours after he was expected to sign for Neil Lennon’s Celtic.
