For 90 minutes on Sunday afternoon, Aston Villa’s poor campaign in the Sky Bet Championship was forgotten, as they took on Birmingham City in the Second-City derby.

With just two fixtures of the Championship season remaining, Steve Bruce’s side sit 12th in the table, with nothing but pride to play for.

Sunday saw local bragging rights at stake, as city rivals Birmingham travelled to Villa Park for one of English football’s biggest occasions.

After October’s contest ended in a 1-1 draw, both sides will have been desperate to record a derby-day victory.

Bruce’s Villa side came out of Sunday’s contest victorious, with Gabby Agbonlahor’s first goal of the season enough for a 1-0 victory.

The result clearly mattered a lot to Bruce’s side, who celebrated wildly after both Agbonlahor’s goal and the full-time whistle.

Jack Grealish was one of many players to take to social-media to express his delight at Villa’s victory, by posting a picture of himself celebrating Agbonlahor’s goal in front of Blues’ manager Harry Redknapp, along with the caption: “Best feeling in the world.”

Here is how Villa fans reacted to Grealish’s tweet…
