As we pass the halfway mark in the Championship season, Derby County will be reasonably happy with their campaign so far.

The Rams currently sit in sixth place with 26 matches played with a four-point cushion on the chasing pack and just six behind second-placed Norwich City.

Frank Lampard has done a brilliant job in putting together an exciting attacking unit at Pride Park with summer signings Mason Mount, Harry Wilson and Jack Marriott joining Tom Lawrence to breathe new life into the club.

With the January transfer window now in full swing, however, Lampard and the Derby board will be scouring the market for new arrivals who could make a difference in the final months of the season.

The top of the table has never been as competitive as it is right now so the winter window will undoubtedly prove instrumental in the Championship's final standings.

But who could the Rams move for? Here are THREE realistic options...

A new centre-back has to be high on Lampard's wishlist with Curtis Davies still set to be missing for a while.

Tomori and Keogh have both done well but there is a disturbing lack of depth in their ranks.

Liam Lindsay has been highly-rated for a while now and proved last season with Barnsley that he is more than capable of cutting it in the Championship.

At 23 he would be a very wise investment for the Rams.

As good as the Rams attack has been, they are perhaps lacking depth on the left-wing with Tom Lawrence and the out of favour Ikechi Anya currently their only options.

Pompey's Ronan Curtis has been a revelation in League One this season and although it may be hard to prise him away from the League One leaders, he could definitely be tempted.

Powell has long been held up as one of the Football League's brightest talents and he could prove the difference for Lampard's side in the run in.

He already has four goals and five assists for the struggling Latics and with his contract set to expire at the end of the season they could well pick up a bargain.
