Leeds United head into this weekend's clash with Ipswich Town knowing that a win could help set them up for success in their upcoming play-off campaign.

One player they will be without, however, is £7million summer-signing Patrick Bamford who picked up a two-match ban following last Sunday's draw with Aston Villa at Elland Road.

After Leeds took the lead with a controversial Mateusz Klich goal, after the Villa players stopped with Jonathan Kodjia down injured, a melee broke out with Bamford at the centre of it.

During the chaos, it appeared that he had been struck by Anwar El Ghazi, with the former Boro man going down holding his face.

The Villa winger was shown a straight red card but it was retrospectively rescinded after it became clear that no contact wad made at all.

As a result, Bamford was handed a two-match ban for conning the referee, a decision that was confirmed on Thursday.

So, how will he be feeling after the decision was made not to appeal the red by his own club?

Frankly, he can have no complaints whatsoever and should be completely embarrassed by his actions.

He will now definitely miss the first leg of their play-off semi-final clash and has seriously let his teammates and manager down as well.

It is lucky that Kemar Roofe has returned to full fitness, otherwise he would have really left them in the lurch.
