It's safe to say that it's been a season to forget for Bolton Wanderers, as they look destined to be relegated into the fourth tier of English football.

It could be an interesting summer transfer window ahead for the Trotters as well, as they look to adjust to life in League Two next season.

We take a look at NINE players that are currently out-of-contract or nearing the end of their current deals that Bolton could target in the summer.

Find out who they are, on the next page....

Wilson has been a free agent since his spell with Bolton Wanderers came to an end back in 2019.

He is vastly experienced though, and that could come in useful for Bolton, who will be targeting an immediate return to League One, if they are relegated into the fourth tier this term.

The former West Ham United defender has a considerable amount of experience of playing in the Premier League, but hasn't played at that level for a number of years now.

His last spell in football was with Ipswich Town, who were relegated from the Championship last season. He could be tempted to step down to the fourth tier to find regular game time.

O'Neil is another player that has previously played for the Trotters not so long ago.

At the age of 36, he'll still feel as though he's got something to give, and could be a useful player to have in the squad as they look to get back to the higher leagues of English football as soon as possible.

The Irishman is currently playing his football with fellow League One strugglers Southend United.

He is out-of-contract at the end of the season, and could be a solid option for Keith Hill to have in the Bolton squad next season, regardless of which division they're playing their football in.

The 37-year-old will be remembered well for his contributions to the Bolton team earlier in his career.

Danns is out-of-contract at the end of the season with Tranmere Rovers, and the Trotters could certainly benefit from having a player of his technical ability in their squad next term.

Rowe has been with Ipswich Town for a number of seasons now, but he is out-of-contract at the end of the 2019/20 season.

He hasn't featured as much as he would have liked to for the Tractor Boys, and has previously been out on loan with Lincoln City earlier in his career.

Pett has previously played in League Two, and is certainly the type of player that Bolton look at signing in the near future.

He played for Stevenage earlier in his career, but has struggled for game time with Lincoln City in League One this season. He could certainly benefit from regular minutes back in League Two to recapture his best form.

Wilbraham helped keep Bolton in the Championship during the 2017/18 season, as he fired home a dramatic winner against Nottingham Forest on the final day of the season.

The striker's current deal with Rochdale is set to expire in the summer, and Bolton would be foolish not to tempt him with an offer heading into the summer.

Haunstrup is currently playing for promotion-chasing Portsmouth, but has struggled for consistent game time with them this season.

The young full-back is out-of-contract at the end of this year's campaign, and you have to imagine that he could add something to the Bolton squad, as he looks to further his development with regular minutes under his belt.
