Reading will be hoping they can finish this year's campaign strongly under the guidance of Mark Bowen in the Championship.

The Royals are currently sat 14th in the second tier standings, and are just eight points adrift of the play-off places with nine games remaining in this year's campaign.

The Berkshire-based side have shown glimpses of their quality, with wins against the likes of Fulham and Birmingham City standing out since the turn of the New Year.

We look at NINE free agents that Mark Bowen could potentially look at before this year's campaign gets back underway.

Find out who they are, on the next page....

Van La Parra's last spell in English football was with Huddersfield Town, but he left the club in the summer of 2019.

He moved on to Serbian giants Red Star Belgrade, but became a free agent in early April. He could be exactly the type of player that Reading need to make a difference in wide areas of the pitch.

Carroll was recently playing his football for Championship side Swansea City, but left the club in January.

He is yet to find a new club, and has had injury problems in the past, and could be a smart signing for the Royals as they look to finish the season strongly.

Strinic is capped at senior level for the Croatian national side, and would be a real coup for Reading.

He has been a free agent since his spell with Italian giants AC Milan came to an end in the summer of 2019 and would be somewhat of a coup for Mark Bowen's side if they got a deal over the line.

Mikel has been a free agent since he terminated his contract with Turkish side Trabzonspor, with recent off-the-field events being one of the main reasons behind his departure.

He has played in the Championship before, having played for Middlesbrough earlier in his career.

Doumbia has got an impressive CV, having played for the likes of Sporting Lisbon and AS Roma earlier in his career.

His pace could cause a number of teams in the Championships problems, and Reading should certainly take a punt on a player that has a point to prove in English football after a poor spell with Newcastle United.

Tabanau has previously been on the books with Swansea City, and could be a solid addition to Mark Bowen's squad at left-back.

His most recent club was French side Guingamp, although he has been a free agent for almost a season now.

Anichebe hasn't been in professional football since 2017, having previously played for Chinese side Beijing Enterprises.

He has a considerable amount of experience in English football having played for both Everton and Sunderland earlier in his career.

Ireland has a considerable amount of experience in English football, having made a name for himself at Manchester City.

The midfielder's last spell was with struggling Bolton Wanderers, and he could be a good player to have in and around the squad for the remainder of the season with Reading.

Ebecilio has been a free agent since his spell in Japan came to an end, but he has been impressive earlier in his career.

The attacking midfielder has spent time with the likes of Red Star Belgrade and APOEL Nicosia and could be a good signing for the Royals.
