Nigel Pearson has had a rough start to life as Derby manager, seeing his side pick up one win in the league, scoring just a single goal in the process.
Their campaign kicked off with a hard fought point at home to Brighton in which neither side showed any real class.
The Rams followed this up with a horrendous performance and a 2-0 loss at Barnsley, before beating Preston and drawing with Aston Villa.
Since then, Derby have lost their last three games, to Burton Albion, and more recently Newcastle and Ipswich.
However, on Tuesday night's game under the lights at the iPro Stadium, Derby were arguably the better side and controlled the game, only a goalkeeping error meant they lost the tie.
After an improved performance, but not an improved result, the Derby players will be looking to get their season going at the weekend away to Bristol City.
Pearson's side appear to have turned a corner, despite not being clinical enough in front of goal, Derby looked more lively against Ipswich and created chances.
But the Rams have still only managed 1 win from their opening 7 matches, Football League World writer identifies THREE things Nigel Pearson is getting wrong at Derby so far in 2016/17...
Not being strict enough with his players
Nigel Pearson is famous for being a fiery manager with a no nonsense attitude, and when he was appointed as Derby boss, Rams fans finally thought that the team had a manager who'd whip the players into shape.
The former Leicester City boss has seen his side perform incredibly poorly however, and failed to motivate his players into turning their fortunes around.
Derby's poor form can't be entirely blamed on Pearson, but with his level of experience and reputation for not taking any rubbish from his players, you'd have thought he'd have rallied his Derby team after a poor start in order to get them going.
Derby did play really well in spells during Tuesday night's match with the Tractor Boys, and Pearson's side should really have taken something from the game.
With an improved performance to build, hopefully the Rams boss can get some results in the next games, and kick start Derby's season.
Playing Will Hughes out of position
In George Thorne's absence, Will Hughes has been used as a defensive minded midfielder.
Even though Hughes isn't bad at winning the ball back, his strengths lie in attack, as he's one of the best creative midfielders in the Championship on his day.
Rams youngster Jamie Hanson is much more suited as a defensive midfielder, and could come into the team to fit into that role.
He's a great young talent and would thrive on a regular first team place, it'd also allow Hughes to be played further forward, so he could focus on creating chances for the likes of Vydra and Wilson.
It's mainly been Hughes who has been played out of position by Pearson, but he has also deployed Jacob Butterfield as a wide player so far this season, which has surprised the majority of Rams supporters. But against Ipswich, Butterfield had his best game under Pearson's reign, as almost everyone in the team stepped up their game.
Not giving another goalkeeper a chance
On deadline day, Chris Weale was brought in on a free transfer as goalkeeping cover after Lee Grant departed on loan to Stoke City.
But Weale has failed to make the bench since arriving, with the 'number 2' spot going to youngster Jonathan Mitchell, behind first choice Scott Carson.
Carson has had a woeful start to the 2016/17 season, making frequent errors and putting in performances that just aren't good enough.
It wasn't until late in the transfer window that Derby completed any signings, but Pearson focused mainly on attack, bringing in Vydra, Anya and Wilson, and rightly so following Derby's lack of goals.
But Derby need a new keeper, Carson has made too many mistakes and Jonathan Mitchell or Kelle Roos - currently on loan at Bristol Rovers - deserve a chance in the first team.
