Hull City clinched promotion back into the Championship at the first time of asking, as they beat Lincoln City 2-1 on Saturday afternoon.
The Tigers took the lead on the day through Josh Magennis, who scored his 18th goal of the season after just four minutes at Sincil Bank.
Lewis Montsma then equalised for Michael Appleton’s side in the second-half, before a Mallik Wilks penalty seven minutes from time saw the Tigers win promotion back into the second-tier.
It was a hugely frustrating league campaign last term for Hull City, as a run of poor results in the second-half of the 2019/20 season saw them relegated from the Championship.
Former Hull City boss Nigel Adkins took to social media to congratulate Grant McCann and everyone associated with his former club on winning promotion.

Adkins was in charge of Hull City up until 2019, but is now in charge of League One side Charlton Athletic, who will be targeting promotion into the second-tier themselves this season.
The Addicks are currently sat eighth in the League One table, and have shown much-needed improvement since Adkins took charge of the London-based club.
Hull City are set to return to action next weekend, when they host Wigan Athletic, who will be keen to pick up points themselves in their battle to avoid relegation.

It’s good to see them back in the Championship.
Hull have been brilliant this season, and they fully deserve promotion back into the second-tier under the management of Grant McCann.
It’ll be interesting to see how they cope back in the Championship though, as I think they’ll need reinforcements into their squad in the summer transfer window.
It’s great to see Adkins congratulating his former team on promotion, and he’ll be hoping he can follow in their footsteps by returning to the Championship at the first time of asking whilst with Charlton Athletic this term.
