‘Nice to see he’s showed up for once’, ‘Rooney out’ – Many angry Derby County fans react to Wayne Rooney’s post-match comments

Managerless Derby’s miserable campaign continued on Saturday after the Rams were unable to move off the foot of the Championship table after drawing 1-1 with fellow relegation-threatened Wycombe at Pride Park.
Derby managed to end their four-match losing streak, although that won’t be much consolation to Wayne Rooney and his coaching staff, whose side remain five points from second-tier safety.
If East Midlands rivals Nottingham Forest avoid defeat against Swansea City this afternoon, then that gap will increase to six points.
Duane Holmes’ first-half strike put the Rams on course to end their 10-game and two-month wait for a Championship win, but their defensive frailties were on show once more, which led to Matt Bloomfield’s 81st-minute equaliser.
McClaren? Clement? Who was the Derby County manager when each of these 15 Rams moments happened?
In truth, Rooney’s men were fortunate not to suffer a sixth Pride Park defeat this term after Garath McCleary saw his thunderous strike cannon back off the crossbar in stoppage-time.
Derby will be hoping bounce back when they host Coventry City in a potential six-pointer on Tuesday.
But here, we’ve been looking at how Rams supporters have been reacting to Rooney’s comments following the weekend – with many unhappy about certain ones in particular.

selecting managers to get more short-term interest/investment vs long sustainability in the shape of a plan (eg Allardyce or Howe) will ultimately kill us. Mel Morris for all his support for Derby likes the PR too much. It’s destabilising. Short term fixes will always bite.

We hear the same stuff after every game, & nothing’s changing.
“Building on” repeatedly crumbling in the second half’s no use to us.
We need a manager. A real one, with experience of turning things around.
(But please – not Steve McLaren!)And we need him NOW. #DCFCvWWFC

This sums it up. We have to remain positive because we managed to not lose against Wycombe… yes, Wycombe!😂 https://t.co/hEb4ESFhpt
