Norwich are closing in on their first signing of the summer, with Man City's Patrick Roberts to join on a season-long loan upon completing a medical, reports John Percy.

Norwich fans have reacted positively to the news on Twitter, with some suggesting that it's a move which could work for the long-term, with Roberts' contract running out in summer 2020.

Since signing for Man City in 2015 the 22-year-old has only made one appearance for the Citizens, but had two successful spells at Celtic before his first taste of top-flight football at Girona this year.

Despite that, Norwich are taken a small gamble with his signing, given he has never played in the Premier League before, but since it is a loan it is a deal which should work out in Norwich's favour, and they would be able to make him a permanent player should his current deal expire in 2020.
