Hartlepool United have released striker Nialle Rodney after just a season with the club.
The former Nottingham Forest youth team player joined on a one-year-deal after impressing coaches during a month’s trial in which he scored in a friendly against Whitby Town.
During his time at Hartlepool he made 15 appearances as he was in and out of the team. His only goal for the club came in a 5-0 win over Bradford when he scored an incredible overhead kick.
Colin Cooper had this to say on his exit: “Hopefully he doesn’t go out of the game now but knuckles down and goes on to earn another chance somewhere because this decision doesn’t change what I think of him as a lad.”
