Massimo Cellino made some controversial decisions during his time as Leeds United’s owner, with it safe to say that the club are in a far better position now under Andrea Radrizzani.

Leeds’ supporters often winced at some of Cellino’s decisions, particularly his transfers, as the Whites continued to recruit from the Italian lower leagues.

However, back in 2014, fans were encouraged by one particular piece of business, with Adryan arriving at Elland Road from Flamengo on loan.

The attacking midfielder was one of Brazil’s most talented youngsters at the time, with it seen as a major coup for Leeds to get him on board.

Adryan featured for Leeds in a season of turmoil, though, with David Hockaday, Darko Milanic and Neil Redfearn all managing the first-team at different points of the season.

That turnover of managers will not have helped Adryan, but the Brazilian’s spell at Elland Road was far from convincing, as Leeds drifted to mid-table.

In 12 first-team appearances for Leeds, Adryan failed to score and registered only two assists, with the Whites not using the playmaker following a disappointing 3-2 defeat to Watford in February 2015.

With hindsight, Adryan’s move to Leeds was destined to fail, with plenty of Cellino’s calls often proving to not work out best for the club.

However, ahead of Adryan’s first start for the Whites, there was a very positive reaction from Leeds’ supporters, which we take a look back at in our latest FLW Rewind…
