Sheffield United continue to excel in the Sky Bet Championship, with Chris Wilder’s side making an impressive start to life back in the second-tier and currently looking set to challenge for another promotion.

The Blades currently sit third in the Championship table, with a number of Wilder's squad impressing at Bramall Lane so far this season.

David Brooks is the name on everybody’s lips in Sheffield, with the young forward bursting onto the scene this season, making his first league appearances in red and white.

Liverpool are reportedly monitoring the 20-year-old, and here at FLW, we believe that Tottenham Hotspur should join their Premier League rivals in keeping tabs on the Sheffield United ace.

Spurs have recently turned to the Football League to pluck exciting talent, with Dele Alli proving to be a success in North London following his move from MK Dons.

Mauricio Pochettino has never been afraid to hand young British talent an opportunity to excel at White Hart Lane, or Wembley, with Ben Davies, Harry Winks and Kieran Trippier all joining the likes of Alli and Harry Kane in Tottenham’s squad.

Brooks offers a similar style to Alli, and if given a free role, can produce the same kind of magic as the English international – with his piece of skill in the recent Steel City derby a stand out moment of the Championship season so far.

Of course, the 20-year-old still has a lot to learn, and before more big clubs start monitoring his situation, the likelihood is that he will have to add goals to his game, having not yet scored a senior goal in his 15 appearances for the Blades.

However, Brooks’ development this season has been rapid, and there is a real feeling that if he continues at the rate he is, more than just Liverpool will be taking a look at the Welshman.

A player of Dele Alli’s ability will always attract interest in the transfer window, which is another reason why Spurs should be lining Brooks up as a potential replacement.
