James Maddison is a player that has shone in the Sky Bet Championship this season, with the Norwich City youngster showing real class in a side that have struggled on occasion.

The 21-year-old has been a shining light in Daniel Farke’s team this season, and was attracting serious interest from West Ham United towards the end of the January transfer window.

However, we at FLW believe a player of Maddison’s ability can go further than that and could potentially be a future star at a club like Chelsea, similarly to what Dele Alli has gone on to do with Tottenham.

We take a look at Maddison’s 2017/18 campaign so far:

The former Coventry City man has scored 12 goals for the Canaries this season, and every time he takes to the field is averaging 2.6 shots at goal.

Maddison is a real threat in the Championship and has added a further six assists to that tally, averaging 2.7 key passes per game.

In addition to those stats, the youngster is a regular on the ball, averaging 52.8 passes per game, which come at a completion of 86%.

Such an impressive player has the ability to go right to the top, and Chelsea have had the opportunity to take a look already, with the Blues facing Norwich in the FA Cup earlier in 2018.

It appears that Maddison is destined for Premier League football, and after strong interest in January, a move in the summer is a real possibility.

Chelsea should certainly be amongst the clubs considering a move for one of the Championship’s best young talents.
