Newcastle United slap hefty £25m price tag on goalscoring midfielder

Newcastle United have stated that they will not sell star midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum for anything less than £25m, according to the Daily Mail.

The Dutch midfielder turned out to be a diamond in the rough last season as Newcastle were relegated from the top flight and it seemed likely that the Dutchman would move on rather than play in the Championship.

Still, the Magpies have slapped a staggering £25m price tag on their key midfielder to ward off interest from the likes of Tottenham, Roma and Everton.

The 26-year old scored 11 times in 38 league games for Newcastle last season as they disappointingly finished in the bottom three of the Premier League.

An attacking midfielder by trade, the former PSV man can also play on the wing, as a holding midfielder or even as a left back so his versatility would be a useful asset for any Premiership side.

Newcastle fans -what do you think? Will Wijnaldum stay now? Who could you buy if someone does bid £25m?
