Newcastle United are reportedly tracking AFC Bournemouth striker Callum Wilson, claims reports from the Sun.
The Magpies already boast the Championship’s top scorer in Dwight Gayle, though the chasing Brighton and Hove Albion are making things tight at the top.
There’s also the small matter of Aleksandar Mitrovic, who is currently struggling for game time on Tyneside under Rafa Benitez.
Wilson, who started his professional career off at Coventry City where he scored 24 times in 55 games, has gone on to be a key player for the Cherries, scoring 33 goals in 74 appearances.
The South Coast club’s boss, Eddie Howe, was questioned about Wilson’s potential departure in a recent press conference, to which he replied saying that “if we did receive any bid, then obviously we would look at it”.
Howe then went on to add that, “as far as I’m concerned, we wouldn’t want to sell any player who is a key part of our long-term plans”, meaning that the Magpies will need to splash some serious cash once again this upcoming transfer window.
So…what do you think Newcastle fans? Do you think that Newcastle can secure Callum Wilson this transfer window? How much do you think that he is worth? Leave your thoughts in the comments below!
