If there's a player who is becoming increasingly more and more in-demand at Newcastle it's Elliot Anderson, with the youngster now wanted by both Hearts and Hibs according to the Edinburgh Evening News.

The 19-year-old player has caught the eye after his performances out on loan in the last campaign and with the midfielder potentially available on another short-term deal, there are now plenty of clubs keeping an eye on him.

There's been a lot of interest from England and throughout the EFL this summer window already but now there is even interest from the Scottish Premier League in the form of Hearts and Hibs.

Both clubs play in the top tier of their respective division and both could give Anderson the chance to bag plenty more gametime. However, both clubs won't find it easy to lure the player away from Newcastle, with the Premier League outfit still unsure as to where to loan him, if they even let him leave at all. Eddie Howe could still yet decide that the midfielder could play some games for his own club.

In the Championship, there are also a wealth of clubs who are keen to give him a chance in the second tier over a potential switch to Scotland. The likes of West Brom, Huddersfield and Luton are all keeping tabs on the situation and if Anderson is prepared to swap the Championship for League One, Sheffield Wednesday could also offer the youngster a chance at regular first-team action and a promotion push.

It seems the player is now not short of options - and he and his parent club will have a decision to make this summer over the future and a potential loan deal to another team.

The Verdict

Elliot Anderson played superbly for Bristol Rovers in the last campaign and that one stint with the club has led to all of this added interest in the player.

He played a total of 21 league games for the side and produced seven goals with six assists along the way. That led to an average of 0.67 goals or assists per 90 minutes despite his youth and his relative inexperience before that.

In fact, the player has only ever featured in one league game for his parent club Newcastle before and even that resulted in just a four minute cameo for the attacking midfielder. Now, he has proven that he deserves a chance to play competitive action on a regular basis and the 19-year-old will have plenty of clubs to choose from if he wishes to seal a loan deal.

The logical transfer for the player would be to try himself at a higher level with a better club where he will still feature fairly often. Sheffield Wednesday and Luton could be good bets, as he would probably get most action there for those two clubs in England and a transfer to Scotland would likely give the player regular gametime too.
