Premier League side Newcastle United have been offered Cardiff City defender Steven Caulker for around £8 million according to the Newcastle Chronicle.
It is being reported that Newcastle United have been offered the 22-year old centre-back and are preparing to launch an £8 million bid for the England international.
Caulker is wanting to leave the Welsh side following their recent relegation into the Championship and has set his eyes on a return to the Premier League.
Newcastle boss Alan Pardew is keen to strengthen his squad up and sees Caulker as an ideal target to achieve his ambitions for next season.
However, they do though face stern competition from a host of clubs including Crystal Palace, Arsenal and Liverpool.
It is expected that French defender Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa will leave the club for a move back to his homeland and Fabricio Coloccini has told the club that he wishes to stay for at least another season.
