Newcastle United man edges closer to the exit door with summer transfer likely

Media reports in the Netherlands are suggesting that Newcastle United’s Haris Vuckic has been offered a trial with FC Twente.

According to TC Tubantia, via the Mag and The Chronicle, Vuckic is trying to earn himself a contract with Dutch Eredivisie outfit FC Twente during a week long trial period.

The 24-year-old has never quite made the cut for Newcastle United’s first team despite being a promising youngster in the past.

Vuckic has the ability to play as an attacking midfielder, a winger or as a striker but he has only ever managed seven senior appearances for the Magpies since joining from NK Domzale in 2009.

The once-capped Slovenian international has since had subsequent loan spells with Cardiff City, Rotherham, Rangers, Wigan and most recently Bradford, but he has never broken into the first team.

With his contract set to expire in the summer, Vuckic’s time at Newcastle appears to have come to an end.

Newcastle fans – what do you make of this? Should Vuckic have been given more opportunities? Is this the best outcome for all involved? Let us know in the comments below…
