The Daily Record are reporting that Freddie Woodman would consider moving back to Kilmarnock this summer.

The young Newcastle United goalkeeper has accepted that he needs to build up his experience and regular playing time is helping his game significantly.

Adding that Rafa Benitez might choose to loan him out again next season, Woodman has confirmed that he would definitely consider moving back to Kilmarnock again after spending a successful stint on loan there this season.

The 20-year-old is regarded as one of England's hottest prospects between the sticks but he is behind a number of top goalkeepers at the club.

Karl Darlow, Rob Elliot, Matz Sels and Tim Krul are also vying for the number one spot at Newcastle so Woodman might be farmed out on another loan next season.

The England under 21 international admits that he has loved playing in Kilmarnock, where he has impressed since replacing Jamie McDonald in goal and talking up the Scottish Premiership, he said:

“What sells it for me and would make me definitely come back is that we played Rangers, Celtic and Hearts in a week.

“So it’s crossed my mind.

"I can’t lie.

"I have thought about coming back to Scotland and Kilmarnock.”

Woodman said that he wants to emulate the success of former Newcastle stopper Fraser Forster who spent time at Celtic before returning to the Premier League with Southampton and making his breakthrough into the England squad.
