Newcastle United are interested in signing Huddersfield Town defender Jordan Williams, according to the Sun via Chronicle Live.
Although Jordan Williams is still very early in his footballing career at only 16, he has impressed and is currently one of the hottest young prospects in England.
The young centre-half has featured internationally for England’s under-17 side and has featured frequently for Huddersfield’s under-18 side, who are currently fourth in the Under-18 Professional Development second division.
Jordan Williams was born in Meltham and joined the academy side when he was nine-years- old, and has since risen through the ranks featuring at every eligible age group for Huddersfield.
Newcastle’s interest will lead to Williams having to make a choice to either continue his development in Newcastle’s set up, or continue to rise up through the ranks at Huddersfield where in the coming years, he could be fighting for a spot in the first team.
With Huddersfield having a growing reputation of filtering academy players through into the first team, he may look to stay at Huddersfield.
