Middlesbrough winger Adama Traore is on Newcastle United's radar this summer, according to The Chronicle.

Newcastle United are keen to bolster their options in the wide areas and Adama Traore has been identified as a possible target.

Newcastle have entered the race for Traore with a number of clubs monitoring the youngster.

Premier League champions Adama Traore have been linked with a surprise swoop while West Ham United were also believed to be in advanced position to complete this signing.

However, interest from the Premier League duo has since cooled and Traore has been linked with a loan move to Levante, Real Betis or Eibar instead.

Adama Traore left Aston Villa to join Middlesbrough last summer and he could be part of a swap deal involving the transfer of goalkeeper Karl Darlow.

Darlow could be heading to the Riverside Stadium with Traore going the other way.

The 21-year-old has shown glimpses of his talent in the past two Premier League seasons but has struggled to provide end product to his game.

The former Barcelona youngster has not scored a single goal during his time in England and has provided just two assists (one apiece for Aston Villa and Middlesbrough).

Boro could be willing to sell the former Spain youth international for the right price.

A previous report has suggested that £8m was the figure Boro were willing to accept from West Ham.
