According to the Chronicle Live, Newcastle United are set to release Sammy Ameobi and Haris Vuckic when their contracts expire this summer.
Neither player has featured much at St James’ Park this season, with both forwards spending time away from the club on-loan.
Ameobi spent the first-half of the season on-loan in League One with Bolton Wanderers, where he made 24 appearances and scored four goals.
The 25-year old returned to Newcastle in January, as Rafa Benitez looked to bolster his attacking options ahead of the Sky Bet Championship run-in, but Ameobi only featured on four occasions.
Vuckic was also in League One, but with Bradford City, where he made 14 appearances, scoring four goals across all competitions, before his return to Newcastle in January.
Benitez is looking to trim his Newcastle squad down, before strengthening it significantly ahead of the club’s return to the Premier League.
The former Real Madrid boss will have a reported £100m to spend on transfers in the summer.
