Championship side Newcastle United are braced to lose winger Christian Atsu to Turkish leaders Medipol Başakşehir, according to the Turkish publication Fanatik.

The 25-year-old winger has spent the first half of the season on loan at Newcastle United, and has made 16 appearances in the Championship, 10 of which were off the bench for Rafa Benitez's side.

Despite the talent and ability that Atsu bestows, the Ghanaian international has been unable to find the consistency needed to become a first team regular for Newcastle United.

Instead, Turkish side Medipol Başakşehir are confident that Chelsea will end Atsu's loan deal at the Championship club prematurely, and instead send the Ghanaian winger out on loan again to the current leaders of the Süper Lig.

With Christian Atsu's future at Chelsea seemingly coming to an end, Başakşehir may look to activate the buy-out clause in Atsu's loan deal, something that Newcastle United was unwilling to do.

Although Christian Atsu remains as a Newcastle United player, it has been reported that Chelsea and Başakşehir are in advanced talks with it looking likely that Newcastle United will lose Christian Atsu in this transfer window.
