Three Premier League clubs are battling to sign Queens Park Rangers winger Matt Phillips, according to the Daily Mail.

The 24-year-old has been told that he can leave Loftus Road during this month’s transfer window if the Hoops receive an offer of £7m.

Newcastle United are the latest side to express an interest after talks with Tottenham Hotspur for winger Andros Townsend broke down, joining Bournemouth and West Bromwich Albion in the race for Phillips.

However, the Baggies’ budget for this window is dependent on the sale of out-of-favour striker Saido Berahino, while Bournemouth have already spent big on Benik Afobe and Lewis Grabban this month.

Phillips, who played in 25 Premier League matches last season, has continued to feature regularly for QPR this season, scoring five goals in 28 appearances.

QPR have already lost top scorer Charlie Austin in this transfer window, selling the striker to Southampton last week.

The R’s are struggling in the Sky Bet Championship this season, and face a tricky test against Kenny Jackett’s Wolves at Loftus Road on Saturday.

QPR fans…What do you make of this news? Should the club cash in on Phillips, or would you like to see him stay? Let us know your thoughts and opinions in the comments below!
