A summer of chaotic and tedious transfer business is nearing the end, and there will undoubtedly be a number of high calibre dealings before the window shuts in two weeks' time.

One man who is, without a shadow of a doubt, going to be in the headlines until it closes is prolific Leeds United forward Chris Wood, who is continuously being linked with an exit out of Elland Road.

The in-demand New Zealand international has netted once this season, grabbing himself a goal and an assist in the thrilling 3-2 triumph over Bolton Wanderers; adding to his tally of thirty in all competitions last term.

Several parties have seemingly been impressed with that record, leading to potential interest, although it is surprising that the 25 year-old has remained a Leeds United player this close to the window shutting.

Especially an abundance of clubs from the Premier League and abroad who have been linked with Woods' name at some point this summer, and here are THREE possible destinations where the attacker may end up....

Burnley

Having been heavily rumoured with a move to Turf Moor, the Clarets have reportedly Leeds United with an increasingly better offer to persuade the Whites to sell-up in an attempt to capture Chris Wood's signature.

Recently selling Andre Gray to top-flight rivals Watford, Burnley will be on the look-out for a recognised goal scorer and there isn't many names in the game who fit the bill just as Wood does.

If Sean Dyche can tempt the striker to the club then it could very well be the Clarets' record transfer fee paid and a move to the Premier League is surely an opportunity the Leeds forward cannot reject.

Crystal Palace

Frank de Boer's men suffered a dreadful beginning to the 2017/18 campaign after suffering a 0-3 drubbing to divisional new boys Huddersfield Town, and the Eagles will be certain to improve their attacking threat going forward.

Whilst Chris Wood has predominantly plied his trade in the Championship, the gap between the second-tier and top-flight is not as significant as some may suggest meaning the international may adapt to Selhurst Park relatively swiftly.

He would, also, undeniably prove to be ruthless competition for fellow striker Christian Benteke and that is something Crystal Palace will need if they're drastically needing to improve.

Newcastle United

The Magpies opened their return to the top-division of the English pyramid with a 2-0 defeat to top-four challengers Tottenham Hotspur and the number of chances created during that encounter may worry some supporters.

Rafa Benitez is potentially being restricted by his lacklustre wage budget and that may halt his attempt to acquire a high-profile name, however, Chris Wood may just fit within the restrictions on Tyneside.

Assuming they'd be able to at least match their competitors, Leeds United would have a difficult task to opt for what destination Wood should choose but Newcastle is certainly among the most persuasive.
