According to SBS Australia, Newcastle United and Crystal Palace have tabled bids for Manchester City’s Aaron Mooy, who is currently on-loan with Huddersfield Town in the Sky Bet Championship.

Mooy has been exceptional at the John Smith’s Stadium this season, helping the Terriers compete in the Championship’s top-six and defying the odds to qualify for the play-offs.

SBS are reporting that there has been no contact between Huddersfield and Man City over a permanent deal for Mooy, whose performances in the Championship have attracted interest from the top-flight and Newcastle – who will also be playing Premier League football next season.

It is understood that City are reluctant to release the midfielder for less than £10m, despite paying a fraction of that fee to bring Mooy to England from Melbourne City last summer.

Mooy has featured on 49 occasions for David Wagner’s side this season, scoring four goals and assisting a further seven in Huddersfield’s run to the play-offs.

The Australian international featured in Town’s 0-0 draw with Sheffield Wednesday in the play-off semi-final, and will be expected to start in the return leg at Hillsborough, which takes place on Wednesday evening.
