Hull City attacker Jarrod Bowen is open to a move to Premier League side Newcastle United, a report from The Chronicle has claimed.

Earlier in the week, the same outlet had revealed that Bowen is a player who is interesting Newcastle as they look to strengthen ahead of the new season, and it now appears that the feeling is mutual.

According to the latest reports, Bowen is keen on a potential move to Newcastle, with the Magpies apparently looking into the total cost of a potential move for the 22-year-old.

If Bowen does the make the move to St James' Park, he will be reunited with newly appointed Magpies boss Steve Bruce, who he previously played under earlier in his time with Hull.

Since joining the Tigers from non-league Hereford in 2016, Bowen has made 99 appearances 37 goals in all competitions for the Tigers, with 22 of those strikes coming in last season's Championship campaign.

There are just 12 months remaining on Bowen's current contract at the KCOM Stadium, although Hull do have the option of extending that deal by a further year.

It had been reported earlier this month that both Arsenal and Tottenham have taken an interest in Bowen in the current transfer window.

The Verdict

This will be a big worry for Hull.

It had always seemed inevitable that there would be Premier League interest in Bowen in the current transfer window, but with the player himself now seemingly confirmed as being keen on a move to the top flight, it will be even harder for the Tigers to keep hold of their star man.

Given Newcastle have spent big in the past two windows on the likes of Miguel Almiron and Joelinton, it now looks less likely that Hull will be able to price the Magpies out of a move for Bowen, which could increase the chances of the wingers move to St James' Park even further.

With less than two weeks until the close of the window and this deal yet to be confirmed, there will not be much time for Hull to head back into the market and secure a potential replacement for Bowen.
