Newcastle United are preparing for life in the Premier League again and Rafa Benitez wants a major revamp this summer.

The Spaniard will be given a budget of £70m by Newcastle owner Mike Ashley to complete his transfer activity, according to The Telegraph.

And the same report by The Telegraph has revealed his top three targets for this summer.

Benitez is keen to strengthen in defence, midfield and up front so these targets come as no surprise.

Arsenal defender Calum Chambers, currently on loan at Middlesbrough, is one of the targets on Benitez’s wishlist.

The 22-year-old already has 3 England caps to his name and has enjoyed a successful season at Middlesbrough, playing at centre back or at right back.

Everton’s James McCarthy is also on their list as Newcastle aim to bring in a defensive midfielder.

The tough-tackling Republic of Ireland international is likely to be available this summer.

Free scoring Fulham star Tom Cairney is the third man on Benitez’s list of targets.
