Norwich City’s Todd Cantwell is likely to be a wanted man this summer after starring for the Canaries for much of the campaign as they have stormed to the summit of the Championship.

The skillful midfielder has really excelled under Daniel Farke in recent seasons and is slowly becoming one of the best youngsters in the country as he continues to work on his craft.

Indeed the wide player does have just one year remaining on his current deal with the club he has called home since the beginning of his career and as a result could well be on the move come the end of the campaign if someone meets the asking price for his services.

With five goals and three assists to his name already, the 23-year-old still has a lot to offer this term before assessing his options when the window swings back open, with a host of potential suitors sure to be eyeing a move for the diminutive playmaker.

Here, we take a look at the different paths that Cantwell could potentially take if he leaves Carrow Road.

Newcastle United

As revealed exclusively by Football League World, the Magpies are said to be firm admirers of the Norwich City man and could well make a bid for the player come the summer.

However a move for Cantwell will only be put on the table if the club manages to remain in the Premier League as their top flight status is currently under threat.

The opportunity to link up with his former teammates Jamal Lewis could be a big pull for the midfielder however he simply doesn’t match the style of football that is being played under Steve Bruce and could be put off by their league position.

Put simply, there are a lot of other more attractive destinations for Cantwell to consider and for that matter a move to the North East appears unlikely.

Tottenham Hotspur

Also revealed by Football League World as a club that has interest in Cantwell, Tottenham Hotspur are an outfit who could take the 23-year-old’s career to another level.

The opportunity to play under Jose Mourinho on the European stage would be an attractive prospect for the Norwich City man, with Spurs also having a good reputation for developing young English talent in recent years.

He would certainly suit the way that the North London side try to play football and would add another good option in behind Harry Kane.

This Premier League side would also give him the best chance of winning some major silverware in comparison to Leicester City and Newcastle United, meaning that this move could be a no brainer for Cantwell if a bid is forthcoming.

Leicester City

As cited by Football League World back in January, Leicester City are also another side that are known to be monitoring Cantwell’s situation at Norwich with great interest.

The Foxes have good pedigree when it comes to signing Norwich players of the past, with James Maddison having thrived since he swapped Carrow Road for the King Power a few years back, a factor which could sway Cantwell.

Add to this the fact that the club appears all the more likely to qualify for the UEFA Champions League and you can really see that it would be an ideal destination for the in-demand 23-year-old.

A Premier League side that continues to have lofty ambitions after winning the league just five years ago, the Norwich City man could do a lot worse than moving to the Midlands this summer.
