According to reports in the Italian media, Udinese goalkeeper Orestis Karnezis could be heading to England this summer.

Newcastle United are set to compete with two established Premier League sides in the race to sign Karnezis, reports Tutto Udinese.

Newcastle will be rivalled by Watford and Crystal Palace in the battle to sign the experienced 31-year-old goalkeeper this summer.

The Greece international has 41 caps to his name and experience of playing at the top level in three different countries.

The 6'3'' stopper has played for Panathinaikos (Greece), Udinese (Italy) and had a loan spell at Granada (Spain).

Karnezis has established himself as the first choice goalkeeper at Udinese but a trio of Premier League clubs are circling.

Newcastle could chase this deal even though they will have Tim Krul, Rob Elliot, Matz Sels, Karl Darlow and Freddie Woodman competing for the goalkeeper spot next season.

Udinese's asking price is reportedly €10m for Karnezis.
