Newcastle United are said to be allowing Dwight Gayle and Jacob Murphy to make their loan moves at West Brom permanent, but in exchange for three Baggies players according to the Football Insider.
It’s been well-documented that one of the players that Newcastle want to bring to the cub in Salomon Rondon, who has looked hugely impressive in his loan spell with the Magpies.
But Rafa Benitez’s side are also said to be wanting a deal that involves experienced duo, Kieran Gibbs and club captain, Jake Livermore in the summer.
Any potential deal between the two clubs will be reliant on whether the Baggies gain promotion back into the Premier League at the first time of asking.
Livermore and Gibbs remained loyal to the Baggies when they were relegated from the top-flight last season, but it remains to be seen as to whether they could be tempted by a move to St James’ Park.
West Brom have reportedly said they are only willing to discuss a potential deal, if they don’t win promotion this season.
There’s no doubting that they have the quality to make the step up to the Premier League, but West Brom will surely be doing everything they can to keep the ball in their court by returning to the top-flight in the near future.
This would be an interesting, but complicated deal.
Murphy and Gayle have been good additions to the West Brom squad, but I can’t see the Baggies being willing to sell Livermore, Rondon and Gibbs in return.
It’s too much of a gamble to take in my opinion.
