Transfermarkt - via Planet Football - has a list of well over 100 Championship players that are out of contract in the summer and it's surely going to see a few clubs looking over it before the summer.

The free agent market is always a good place to pick up some serious bargains especially with second tier players and Bobby Reid is perhaps one of the standout names.

The Bristol City attacking midfielder has excelled in an advanced role this season for the Robins and has had a campaign as good as anyone in the second tier.

He could be let go in the summer, however, although it should be noted that the Robins to have the option to extend his stay for another season.

If they do not get promoted, though, a number of clubs will surely be looking at him and Newcastle United should be one in our eyes.

The Magpies have done well to adapt to the Premier League but they do need more goals if they stay up this season.

Defensively they look pretty sound so if they could add someone like Reid as well as some other decent attacking players they'll surely move into the upper half of the top flight.

The Robins may have first refusal, but Newcastle should look to capitalise on this situation and make Reid an offer he can't turn down.
