According to The Chronicle, Newcastle United forward Yoan Gouffran held preliminary discussions with French Ligue 1 outift LOSC Lille in January and he might complete a move in the summer.
New manager Marcelo Bielsa will offer him the chance to join Lille in the summer if the French club stay afloat in Ligue 1.
After looking destined for the exit door last summer, Yoan Gouffran returned to the Newcastle first team picture and has impressed in the Sky Bet Championship this season.
The 30-year-old has played in 32 games in all competitions and scored six times for Newcastle after establishing himself as a regular starter under Benitez.
Rafa Benitez told Mike Ashley not to sell Gouffran in January but the Frenchman might return to his native country in the summer when his contract expires.
The talented winger has been offered the chance to join Lille if they stay up with the club just four points off the relegation zone in Ligue 1.
