New West Brom signing Wes Hoolahan has insisted that he still has plenty of football left in him after moving to the Hawthorns as a free transfer, report the Express and Star

The 36-year-old signed a deal with the West Midlands club until January after he was released by Norwich City at the end of last season after ten years with the club.

It’s been a long time since I had a trial but I am really grateful to the gaffer for the opportunity he offered me to come up and spend some time here," said Hoolahan.

"I still feel I have plenty to offer. I retired from international football in March with the intention of kicking on and playing as many games as possible at club level."

He made over 350 appearances for the Canaries during his time at the club scoring 58 goals and assisting 74 more.

Starting his career at Shelbourne in his native Ireland, Hoolahan moved to Scottish side Livingston before Blackpool signed him in 2007.

He has racked up 216 appearances in the Championship alone and has been promoted from the division twice before with the Canaries.

Darren Moore made eight signings other than Hoolahan over the summer as he looked to build a side capable of bouncing straight back to the Premier League.

The Verdict

Hoolahan knows this league like the back of his hand and will be a crucial component even if he will not be playing all the time.

An experienced head like his in the dressing could be the difference when it comes to big matches throughout the season.

It seems a smart move from Albion, particularly as he was available for free.
