New Stoke City signing Ryan Woods has admitted the side may need to alter the way they try and break teams down after they lost 2-1 to West Brom yesterday.

The Potters put in a massive 41 crosses at The Hawthorns but only seven of them met the Stoke forwards.

And, speaking to Stoke on Trent Live, the former Brentford man acknowledged it's something they may need to change in the coming weeks.

"The amount we’ve put in is probably a bit too many really, there were times when we probably could have looked at other options."

"That’s what we did this time and it didn’t work out for us but it’s something we can work on and look on over the next fortnight. We’ll be making sure we take those mistakes out of our game after the international break."

The 25-year old was a second-half substitute for Gary Rowett's men, but couldn't turn the tide on his debut for the Staffordshire side.

The loss continued the poor start to the campaign for Stoke, with the team having picked up just one win in six games.

The Verdict

Stoke were very predictable at Albion yesterday, just looking to get the ball wide and putting in some hopeful crosses at times.

In fairness, Woods acknowledged that and he is the sort of player to change that. He is brilliant on the ball and will help the side build up play.

Obviously, it will take him time to get to know his new teammates but he should end up becoming a key player for Rowett's men.
