New Southend United signing Myles Weston has enjoyed his first day at his new club.
The left winger who officially signed for the Shrimpers on the first of July has took part in his first training session with his new team-mates and he believes he has time to settle.
”It was nice to meet everyone for the first time. I didn’t really know anyone before coming here today, but they’ve all helped me settle in really well.” said Weston.
It was also good to meet the manager again in a team environment where he was talking about what he hoped we could achieve together this season. Pre-season is always an important time for team building and I am really happy I got the contract sorted early so I don’t miss any of pre-season with the team.” added the former Gillingham man.
Weston already started work on fitness before he joined Southend, and now can’t wait to start on the footballing side after testing the squad on gathering fitness.
”Over the summer it’s always nice to have some time off, but then you do start to do a little bit to make sure you’re in good condition for when you return. The testing is always important so the physio and staff can see what condition we’re in on the first day back, and then measure it throughout the season.
All players know pre-season is going to involve a lot of hard work, and I’m more than ready for it.”
