New Peterborough United boss Graham Westley has insisted that he will not be listening to any of the criticism that has been thrown in his direction in the wake of his appointment at the London Road club.

Westley had been out of work since leaving League Two Stevenage in May following an unsuccessful play-off campaign last season, and was handed the Posh reigns yesterday afternoon, replacing Dave Robertson.

Despite certain sectors criticising Westley, he can boast back-to-back promotions from non-league to League One with Stevenage and could prove to be a shrewd appointment by Posh owner Darragh MacAnthony.

Following the outspoken manager’s appointment, Westley spoke to BBC Look East.

He said: “I don’t pay attention to those kind of things. What I pay attention to is people from Stevenage saying good luck, thank you for everything you have done.

“When I was at Stevenage we used to pass on the floor, score goals and win games.

“There are a lot of myths flying around at the moment, but in the end my Peterborough side will be judged on how it plays, the way it performs and the results it gets.”

Posh currently sit in lowly 18th place in Sky Bet League One after a poor start to the 2015/16 campaign, which has seen them win twice, draw twice and already lose four times.

Westley’s first game in charge will be a tricky trip to Bradford City on Saturday.
