Nottingham Forest’s Ross McCormack has been speaking to the Birmingham Mail about his deadline-day move from Aston Villa.

McCormack joined Forest on-loan for the remainder of the season, after finding opportunities difficult to come by at Villa Park.

The Scottish international joined Villa from Fulham during the summer, but has failed to make an impression, scoring just three-goals this season.

Steve Bruce, the Aston Villa manager, publicly criticised McCormack for his failure to make training.

Speaking to the Birmingham Mail about his move, McCormack said: "My confidence was a bit low and that will improve by playing and scoring goals. We need to pull together here to climb the league.

"I have come to a fantastic club to show that I am back and I am ready to go. I want to add to this group and get some good results.”

McCormack has a wealth of experience in the Sky Bet Championship, scoring over 100 goals during spells with Cardiff, Leeds and Fulham.

Forest also completed the signing of Bolton Wanderers’ youngster, Zach Clough on deadline-day, adding to caretaker manager Gary Brazil’s options.

Forest are currently 19th in the Championship and are starting to pull away from the relegation zone, particularly after their 2-0 victory over Rotherham United on Tuesday.

Brazil’s side face McCormack’s parent club Aston Villa on Saturday evening, knowing a win would put them level on points with their Midland rivals.
