Adlene Guedioura left Nottingham Forest in 2013 for Crystal Palace and has made no secret of how happy he is to have made a deadline day return to the club.

The experienced midfielder is at the start of his second spell with the Midlands outfit, as well as linking up with manager Aitor Karanka again after the pair worked together at Middlesbrough last season.

The Algerian's career has taken him to a host of clubs, including Boro, Wolves, Watford and Crystal Palace but he made it clear in an interview with the Nottingham Post how deeply he feels about Forest and went some way to explaining his first departure from the club.

He said: "I feel good here. I feel good vibes. That is why I wanted to come back. Now I’m here, I want to continue having good things and having good vibes. My heart never left from here, really.

“When I left, it was difficult for me. I was not happy with the move. I always kept following Forest and what they were doing, so I never really left.

"A part of me never really left from here. I knew that at some point, one day, I would come back, maybe playing or without playing."

The Verdict

Forest have a group of young players who clearly love playing for the club and now they have an experience head, not from the area, but with that same strength of feeling and pride in the shirt.

That is the kind of things fans love to see and it will stand them in good stead as they look to claw their way up the league, with the ultimate goal being promotion to the Premier League.
