It has been a summer of change at Nottingham Forest with a new manager in charge and a host of new signings through the door.

One of those is left-back Yuri Ribeiro and the Portuguese U21 international will hope to make a big impact in the east Midlands after joining on a season-long loan last month.

And, it appears that the 22-year-old is relishing the chance to feature for the Reds going by his latest Twitter post, where he revealed his excitement to get out playing at the City Ground.

Even though Ribeiro will have tough competition at left-back with Jack Robinson another option for Sabri Lamouchi, the on-loan Benfica man arrives with a big reputation due to his performances for the younger national sides over the years.

He also impressed whilst on loan with Rio Ave in the 2017/18 campaign as they finished fifth in the Portuguese top-flight.

Forest begin their Championship season with a tough opener against fellow promotion hopefuls West Brom at the City Ground on Saturday evening.

The Verdict

It's good to see that the player is looking forward to the big game this weekend and he will hope to get the nod in the starting XI.

Either way, Lamouchi has good competition for places at left-back and that's exactly what any manager would want.

You would imagine Ribeiro will get his opportunities over the season though and it's down to him to show the fans why he is highly-rated by adding a lot to the team.

It will be a big test for the youngster in the Championship but he will be eager to prove himself in England.
