The 26-year-old, who only signed for Terry Butcher’s side in the summer on a two-year deal, was injured in Newport County’s opening day defeat at Cambridge United.
More bad news for Butcher is that Kevin Feely, Yan Klukowski, Nathan Ralph and Andrew Hughes will also spend time out through injury, and will miss the Exiles’ Capital One Cup clash at Championship side Wolverhampton Wanderers on Tuesday night.
Also missing the game will be on loan defender Aaron Hayden, who is ineligible as Wolves are his parent club.
Butcher has said that he’ll field a young squad when his side travel to Molineux, and is looking into loan signings to bulk up his squad.
”Its a great fixture,” said Butcher to BBC Sport.
“Nothing is expected of us, everybody will be tipping Wolves as a home banker but there have been quite a few upsets in recent years when it comes to the early rounds in this competition.
”We are hopeful we can, not so much cause an upset, but give a good account of ourselves and let my players enjoy it.”
The Exiles boss will immediately begin to focus on Saturday’s home visit of Teddy Sheringham’s Stevenage, particularly as both sides lost their opening game last weekend.
