Ever wondered what a 92 team English league would look like?

The Football League Power Rankings gives football fans, like you, a unique way of charting your team’s progress throughout the football season. The FLPR breaks down the barriers of the English league system and puts all 92 Football League teams into one, complete league table based on form.

By ordering all 92 teams on their achievements, or under achievements, it is possible to directly compare the fortunes and form of any two teams in the country. Arguments between fans in the pub can be settled once and for all. Whose team is playing better: Barnsley or Blackburn? Ipswich or Norwich? Arsenal or Charlton? The Football League Power Rankings has the answers.

Hartlepool v Bristol Rovers 150314

The FLPR will analyse stats and results from every Premier League and Football League game this season to give each team a Power Ranking score. Points are awarded based on the following criteria:

  • Match result (win, lose, draw)
  • Standard of opponent
  • Match Goal Difference
  • League Position Differential
  • Away wins
  • Clean Sheets.

The more of the aforementioned criteria that a result satisfies the more points are awarded, and as a result of the amount of variables used to determine points, each game is unique. By moving away from the standard points system, teams are more appropriately rewarded for achieving greater feats. So, if a team wins a game 3-0 away against a team above them in the league, they’ll get more points than if they’d beaten a team 2-1 at home who are below them.

So what does it look like? The current FLPR top 10 looks like this:
