La Liga side Celta Vigo are interested in appointing Leeds United boss Marcelo Bielsa as their new manager, according to reports from Italian media outlet TuttomercatoWeb.

The Argentine's future at Elland Road is currently up in the air, having been defeated in the Championship play-off semi-finals by Derby County last week.

Missing out on promotion to the Premier League would have been a massive kick in the teeth for the Yorkshire club, no more so than for Bielsa who has invested so much time and effort into making Leeds worthy of a step-up to the top-flight.

Now, plenty of Leeds fans are concerned that Bielsa will not remain at Elland Road, despite Yorkshire Evening Post journalist Phil Hay revealing that the ball is in his court whether he wants to activate a 12-month extension in his contract.

Now, reports from Italy claim that Celta Vigo have joined AS Roma in the race to appoint Bielsa.

The Spanish side appointed Fran Escriba until the end of the season, and after losing just four of their final 12 games of the season, he saved them from relegation to the Spanish second division.

Now, Celta are looking for a new permanent manager, with Bielsa reportedly on their radar, only a short time after it was claimed that AS Roma were eyeing up the 63-year old as a replacement for the departing Claudio Ranieri.

The Verdict

Leeds fans will be praying for any sort of any official confirmation, to clarify whether Bielsa will be staying or not.

He has been a breath of fresh air at Elland Road this season, and it would be massive shoes to fill if he left.

With all of these clubs declaring an interest in the experienced coach, Leeds fans have got to be worried.
